Dhaka, 30 June 2026: United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has promoted Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman to the position of Deputy Managing Director (DMD), recognizing his extensive contribution to Bangladesh’s banking industry and his leadership within the organization.
With more than 27 years of experience in the banking sector, Shafiqur Rahman has played a significant role in business development, customer relationship management, and retail banking operations throughout his professional career.
Since 2022, he has been leading UCB’s Retail Business Division, where he has been involved in strengthening the bank’s retail banking portfolio, enhancing customer experience, and supporting business growth initiatives.
In his new role as Deputy Managing Director, Shafiqur Rahman will assume broader responsibilities across the organization and contribute to the implementation of UCB’s strategic priorities, including business expansion, digital transformation, operational excellence, and customer-centric banking services.
