Mohammad Omar Faruk Khan, Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, has been honoured with the “Lifetime Excellence in Islamic Banking Leadership Award” at the Global NRB Awards 2025, recognising his outstanding contributions and dynamic leadership in the Islamic banking sector.
The award was conferred by NRB World in acknowledgment of Khan’s long-standing commitment to advancing Islamic banking practices and strengthening the sector through visionary leadership.
The award ceremony was held on December 30, 2025, at Hotel Sheraton in Dhaka, marking International Migrants Day. Khan received the honour from Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur at the prestigious event.
The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering of expatriate professionals and leaders from nearly 25 countries, including entrepreneurs, industrialists, business leaders, physicians, engineers, scientists, academicians, and IT professionals.
Also present at the event were senior representatives of NRB World, including its founder Enamul Haque Enam, along with notable figures from various sectors.
The recognition highlights Khan’s significant role in promoting ethical finance, financial inclusion, and sustainable growth within Bangladesh’s Islamic banking industry.
