Dhaka, 20 September 2026: Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) and Central Depository Bangladesh PLC (CDBL) have signed an agreement to facilitate digital payments and online collections through MTB’s integrated, API-driven cash management services.
Under the agreement, CDBL will use MTB eBank to manage various types of payments and online collections, according to a press release.
The arrangement will also enable transaction approvals through biometric authentication using the MTB eBank App. MTB described the facility as the first of its kind in Bangladesh’s banking industry.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at MTB Centre, 26 Gulshan Avenue, Gulshan-1, Dhaka, in the presence of Syed Mahbubur Rahman, managing director and CEO of MTB, and Md Abdul Mutaleb, managing director and CEO of CDBL.
Senior officials from both organisations attended the ceremony.
Representing MTB were Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, additional managing director and chief business officer; Md Shamsul Islam, deputy managing director and head of the Treasury Division; Mohammad Mamun Faruk, deputy managing director and head of the Wholesale Banking Division; AKM Tareq, deputy managing director and head of the Branch Banking Division; Md Ashik Iqbal Khan, divisional head of Cash Management and Transaction Banking; and Md Rozar Ibna Azad, head of the Communication Department.
Representatives from CDBL included Mohammad Shahidul Islam, chief financial officer and company secretary; Md Tohabin Huq, general manager of Inspection, Compliance and Legal Affairs; Raquibul Islam Chowdhury, general manager of Application Development and VAS; Jayanta Biswnu Mondal, senior assistant general manager of Finance and Accounts; and Abdullah Al Fahad, manager of Finance and Accounts.
Other senior officials from both organisations were also present at the signing ceremony.
