Bangladesh Shipping Corporation Hands Over Tk 236.59 Crore to Government under Subsidiary Loan Agreement

Dhaka, January 14, 2026 — Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) handed over a cheque worth Tk 236.59 crore to the Government of Bangladesh under a Subsidiary Loan Agreement (SLA) today at the Jatio Atithi Bhaban in Dhaka.

The cheque was received by Prime Minister Professor Muhammad Yunus’ close aide, in a ceremony attended by Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M. Sakhawat Hossain and Commodore Mahmudul Malek, Managing Director of BSC.

The payment represents the government’s share of loan repayment and dividends from six BSC-owned shipping projects, covering accrued amounts and declared profits from the fiscal year 2024-2025. The transaction underscores BSC’s commitment to supporting national development and contributing to the state’s revenue.
