Meghna Bank PLC has appointed Syed Mizanur Rahman as its new Managing Director, effective 4 December 2025. With nearly 30 years of experience in Bangladesh’s financial sector, Mr. Rahman brings a strong track record of leadership and industry expertise to his new role.
Prior to joining Meghna Bank, he served as the Managing Director and CEO of AB Bank, where he led several strategic initiatives and organisational transformations.
Mr. Rahman began his professional journey in 1993 at Novartis (formerly Ciba-Geigy Bangladesh Ltd). His career spans roles at Youngone, Beximco, and later in the banking sector where he held important positions at Dhaka Bank, IPDC, Bank Alfalah, and United Commercial Bank. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in branch banking, retail banking, process enhancement, business development, and corporate communication.
He has also taken part in a wide range of local and international training programmes, workshops and seminars in the United States, Malaysia and India, contributing to his professional growth.
Mr. Rahman holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka.
