Dhaka: BRAC Bank, in collaboration with the Economic Relations Division (ERD) of the Ministry of Finance, has organised a three-day climate finance training programme aimed at enhancing professional capacity, developing investment-ready projects, and advancing Bangladesh’s sustainable and climate-resilient future.
The training brought together professionals from the banking sector, government agencies, academia, and civil society, creating a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration on climate finance and sustainable development.
The programme focused on building participants’ understanding of climate finance mechanisms, project preparation, investment mobilisation, and strategies for accessing global climate funds. It also highlighted the importance of developing bankable projects capable of attracting climate-related investments.
According to the organisers, strengthening institutional and professional capacity is essential for Bangladesh to effectively address climate challenges while unlocking new financing opportunities for sustainable development initiatives.
Participants gained insights into global climate finance trends, risk management practices, project evaluation frameworks, and financing structures that can support climate-resilient infrastructure and green investments.
BRAC Bank said the initiative reflects a shared commitment to fostering collaboration among key stakeholders and equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to accelerate Bangladesh’s transition towards a more sustainable and climate-resilient economy.
The organisers believe that stronger climate finance capabilities and a pipeline of investment-ready projects will help Bangladesh attract greater international funding and support its long-term sustainability goals.
