Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) has signed an agreement with RUNNER Motors PLC to provide an integrated API-driven cash management ecosystem aimed at streamlining nationwide distributor and sales collections.
The agreement signing ceremony was held recently at MTB Centre, the bank’s corporate head office in Gulshan-1, Dhaka.
Under the partnership, RUNNER Motors PLC will utilize MTB’s advanced cash management services powered by API integration to facilitate seamless collection management across its nationwide distribution network. The agreement also includes the use of MTB’s digital payment platform, MTB eBank, enabling the company to manage various payment operations and online collections through Direct Debit Instruction (DDI).
One of the key highlights of the solution is the biometric transaction approval feature integrated into the MTB eBank App, which MTB described as the first of its kind in Bangladesh’s banking industry. The feature is expected to enhance both security and operational efficiency for corporate transactions.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO of MTB. Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, Additional Managing Director and Chief Business Officer of MTB, and Nazrul Muhammad Islam (FCA), Managing Director of RUNNER Group, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Senior officials from both organizations attended the event, including Khalid Hossin, Chief Digital Officer of MTB; Md. Ashik Iqbal Khan, Divisional Head of Cash Management & Transaction Banking; Tahsin Taher, Divisional Head of Retail Segment & Strategy; and Md. Rozar Ibna Azad, Head of Communication Department.
Representing RUNNER Motors PLC were Rajesh Kumar Yadav (FCA), Chief Financial Officer, Ahmed Hossain, Head of IT, and other senior executives.
The partnership reflects MTB’s growing focus on digital banking innovation and transaction banking solutions tailored for corporate clients. For RUNNER Motors PLC, the integration is expected to improve operational efficiency, automate collection processes, and strengthen financial management across its nationwide business operations.
