Dhaka, Bangladesh: Md. Altaf Hossain has been appointed as the Acting Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, marking a significant leadership transition at one of the country’s leading Islamic financial institutions.
Prior to this appointment, Altaf Hossain served as the Additional Managing Director of the bank. Over the years, he has held several key leadership roles, including Deputy Managing Director (Investment) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO). He also led multiple strategic divisions, notably Corporate Investment and SME, contributing to the bank’s growth and risk management framework.
Altaf Hossain began his journey with Islami Bank in 2004. Before joining the bank, he gained valuable experience working with prominent development and financial organizations such as BRAC, MIDAS, and Grameen Fund.
With more than two decades of experience in banking, investment, and financial risk management, his appointment is expected to strengthen the bank’s leadership and support its ongoing strategic initiatives.
Industry stakeholders believe that under his leadership, Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC will continue to enhance its position in the country’s banking sector, particularly in Islamic finance and SME development.
