Dhaka, Bangladesh: Bank Asia PLC. has promoted Mohammad Ziaul Hasan Molla to the position of Additional Managing Director, recognizing his long-standing service and significant contributions to the bank’s growth and operational excellence.
Molla has been serving as Deputy Managing Director since 2018 and will continue to oversee several key responsibilities, including Chief Credit Officer (CCO), Head of Agent Banking, Chief Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (CAMLCO), and Executive Director of the Bank Asia Foundation.
With more than 25 years of experience in banking and financial services, Molla brings extensive expertise across credit management, corporate banking, SME and retail banking, Islamic banking, and financial inclusion.
Since joining Bank Asia in 2013, he has played a crucial role in strengthening the bank’s business development, credit operations, compliance framework, and agent banking services.
Before joining Bank Asia, Molla held senior leadership roles at City Bank PLC. and Standard Chartered. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of a Hong Kong-based financial institution, further broadening his international banking exposure.
Currently, Molla is serving as Chairman (2022–2026) of the Association of Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officers of Banks in Bangladesh (AACOBB), where he is actively contributing to the promotion of anti-money laundering best practices across Bangladesh’s banking sector.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, he holds internationally recognized certifications in Shariah advisory, including CSAA from Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions, Bahrain, as well as anti-money laundering certification from Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists, United States.
The promotion reflects Bank Asia’s continued focus on strengthening its leadership team with experienced professionals to support the bank’s long-term strategic objectives and sustainable growth.
