Dhaka, 15 September: A three-day Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2026 is set to begin in Dhaka on September 17, bringing together more than 200 tourism-related organisations from Bangladesh and abroad.
The fair will be held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) and will continue until September 19.
According to the organisers, participants from 10 countries will join the event, including hotels, resorts, tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, and public and private tourism organisations. Representatives from several foreign embassies and missions are also expected to take part.
The details were announced at a press conference held at a hotel in Gulshan on Monday. Mahbubuddin Helal, chairman of the Asian Tourism Fair and editor of Parjatan Bichitra, briefed journalists about the event. Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Chairman Md Shamimuzzaman was also present.
The fair will remain open to visitors from 10am to 7pm each day. The entry fee has been set at Tk30. Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in a raffle draw featuring complimentary air tickets, domestic and international travel packages, and gift vouchers.
This year’s fair will place particular emphasis on Bangladesh’s diverse tourism opportunities, including the haors, Sundarbans, river tourism, adventure tourism, eco-tourism and community-based tourism.
Several dedicated showcases will be organised, including Destination Bangladesh Showcase, International Tourism Showcase and Bangladesh Tourism Investment Showcase.
The event will also feature daily B2B sessions aimed at connecting tourism businesses and creating new commercial opportunities. Seminars, destination presentations and panel discussions will be organised throughout the fair.
Organisers expect the event to strengthen business connections between local and international tourism stakeholders while creating opportunities for investment and partnerships in Bangladesh’s tourism sector.
Cultural performances by artists from Bangladesh, Nepal and the Philippines will also be part of the three-day programme.
The fair is being organised with support from the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and the Bangladesh Tourism Board, while Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the title sponsor.
The fair will be inaugurated at 11am on September 17 by the Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism.
