Dhaka, February 5:
Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will provide training to 50,000 drivers as part of a major government initiative aimed at improving road discipline and reducing traffic accidents across the country.
The program is being launched under the Bangladesh Road Safety Project, supported by the Road Transport and Highways Division and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
According to officials, the training will focus on:
- Safe driving practices
- Traffic law compliance
- Passenger safety
- Accident prevention and awareness
An agreement was signed in Dhaka between the Road Transport and Highways Division and BRTC to implement the large-scale training plan.
The initiative is expected to strengthen professional driving standards and enhance overall public transport safety, especially in busy urban areas where road accidents remain a major concern.
Government representatives stated that this program will help build a more disciplined transport system and contribute to safer roads for both passengers and pedestrians.
The training sessions will be conducted in phases through designated BRTC training institutes across Bangladesh.
