Dhaka, July 15, 2026: The Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) has signed a land lease agreement with Jenson & Nicholson Packaging Limited for an investment of approximately US$13.7 million to establish a modern packaging manufacturing facility at the National Special Economic Zone.

Under the agreement, the company will develop the industrial unit on 6.34 acres of land. The project is expected to generate employment for around 600 people, contributing to the country’s industrial growth and job creation.

Jenson & Nicholson Packaging Limited, a subsidiary of Berger Paints Bangladesh, will manufacture rigid plastic pails, industrial paint containers, food-grade packaging materials, and metal packaging products. The facility is expected to strengthen the backward linkage of Berger Paints’ manufacturing operations by ensuring a reliable local supply of packaging materials.

Speaking at the signing ceremony held at the BEZA conference room, Saleh Ahmed, Executive Member (Investment Development) of BEZA, said the investment demonstrates the growing confidence of local industries in Bangladesh’s economic zones.

He noted that BEZA remains committed to providing investor-friendly services and expediting project implementation so that businesses can begin commercial production within the shortest possible time.

BEZA officials also revealed that Berger Paints Bangladesh has already been allocated 40 acres of land within the same economic zone, where commercial production is expected to commence within the next two months.

Representing the investor, Rupali Haque Chowdhury, Director of Jenson & Nicholson Packaging Limited and President of the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), said the new investment would support the country’s manufacturing sector through environmentally sustainable and technology-driven production.

She also appreciated BEZA’s efforts to facilitate industrial investment while calling for faster utility connections and further policy support to enhance Bangladesh’s investment climate.

The land lease agreement was signed by Rupali Haque Chowdhury on behalf of Jenson & Nicholson Packaging Limited and Saleh Ahmed on behalf of BEZA, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.

The latest investment aligns with Bangladesh’s broader strategy to attract industrial investment, expand domestic manufacturing capacity, and strengthen export-oriented production through the country’s network of economic zones.
