Government employees can enjoy a continuous five-day holiday during Eid-ul-Fitr. However, by taking just one extra day off, they can extend their break to a full seven days.
According to the official holiday schedule, Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to be observed on Saturday, March 21, depending on the sighting of the moon. In 2026, the government has declared a total of five official holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr.
Officially, the Eid holidays will run from Thursday, March 19 to Monday, March 23. With the Shab-e-Qadr holiday on March 17 (Tuesday) and taking leave on Wednesday, March 18, government employees can enjoy a continuous seven-day break.
Furthermore, immediately after Eid, Thursday, March 26 marks Independence Day. With the weekend on March 27–28, taking March 24 and 25 off allows for an extended 10-day vacation.
