Bata Bangladesh has reported a record-breaking performance in the first quarter of 2026, posting strong revenue and profit growth despite ongoing global economic uncertainty and evolving local market conditions.

According to the company’s latest financial update, Bata Bangladesh recorded sales worth ৳379.7 crore during the January–March quarter of 2026, supported by strong Eid shopping demand, wider product offerings, and sustained consumer confidence across the country.

The multinational footwear manufacturer said its extensive retail network, expansion of alternative sales channels, and strong customer response to seasonal collections played a major role in achieving the historic quarterly performance.

According to the company’s unaudited financial statements, operating profit during the quarter stood at ৳58.5 crore, while profit after tax reached ৳37.1 crore. Earnings per share (EPS) rose to ৳27.14, slightly higher than the same period last year.

Despite inflationary pressure, higher logistics costs, increased brand promotion expenses, and rising operational expenditures, Bata Bangladesh managed to maintain growth momentum through efficient production planning, disciplined business management, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

The company also noted that Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the country’s peak consumer spending periods, fell within the first quarter this year, significantly boosting footwear demand early in 2026. To meet the increased demand, Bata maximised its in-house production capacity and further strengthened sourcing and supply chain efficiency.

While maintaining a competitive mid-range pricing strategy, Bata continued offering affordable and accessible footwear products to consumers nationwide, the company said.

In another major achievement, Bata Bangladesh was recognised as the highest taxpayer in the leather and footwear category for the seventh consecutive year, reflecting the company’s continued contribution to the national economy and commitment to responsible business practices.

Industry analysts believe the strong quarterly results reinforce Bata Bangladesh’s market leadership position and demonstrate the resilience of consumer demand in the country’s footwear sector amid challenging economic conditions.
