Upay Partners with Agrani Distribution to Expand Nationwide B2B Operations

Dhaka, 10 August 2026: Mobile financial services (MFS) provider Upay has entered into a strategic partnership with Agrani Distribution Company Limited, one of Bangladesh’s leading distribution companies, to expand its business-to-business (B2B) operations and strengthen its distribution network across the country.

A partnership agreement was signed on Thursday at The Westin Dhaka in Gulshan. Shyamol B. Das, Managing Director of Upay, and Omar Faruk Chowdhury, Executive Director of Agrani Group, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under the partnership, Agrani Distribution Company will serve as a strategic partner of Upay, supporting and managing the MFS provider’s B2B operations across Bangladesh. The collaboration is expected to broaden Upay’s distribution reach and create fresh momentum for its business expansion.

The signing ceremony was attended by Chowdhury A. H. M. Lutful Huda, Director of Agrani Group; Matiur Rahman, Executive Director and former Additional Inspector General of Police; Hasan Mohammad Zahid, Deputy Director of Upay; and Sajjad Alam, Head of Corporate Sales at Upay, along with senior officials from both organizations.

Speaking at the event, representatives of the two organizations highlighted the rapidly growing competition and opportunities in Bangladesh’s digital financial services sector. They emphasized that strong distribution capabilities and reliable business partnerships are increasingly important for expanding financial services across diverse markets.

With Agrani Group’s extensive market experience, established reputation, skilled workforce, and nationwide distribution network, the partnership is expected to strengthen Upay’s presence in different regions of Bangladesh.

Through the collaboration, the two companies will work together to expand Upay’s B2B operations, create new business opportunities, strengthen distributor and merchant networks, and make digital financial services more accessible to customers across the country.

Officials from both organizations described the partnership as more than a commercial agreement, noting that it represents a joint effort to expand the reach of digital financial services and accelerate technology-driven financial inclusion in Bangladesh.

They expressed optimism that combining the expertise and capabilities of both organizations would contribute to the continued development of the country’s digital economy.
