Dhaka, March 16, 2026: Mohammad Zamal Uddin has recently joined IFIC Bank PLC as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Head of the Islamic Banking Division.
In his new role, he will lead the bank’s Islamic banking operations, focusing on the development of Shariah-compliant products and services, expanding the Islamic banking portfolio, and ensuring compliance with Shariah principles as well as regulatory guidelines set by Bangladesh Bank.
Mr. Zamal brings over 20 years of experience in the banking sector, having held several leadership positions throughout his career. Prior to joining IFIC Bank, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of the Islamic Banking Division at United Commercial Bank PLC, where he played a key role in developing Islamic banking products, business strategies, and operational frameworks.
He began his banking career in 2004 as a Probationary Officer at Uttara Bank PLC and later worked at BRAC Bank PLC as Senior Principal Officer and Branch Manager. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in various areas of banking, including branch management, operations, credit management, and Islamic banking leadership.
Mr. Zamal holds an MBA in Marketing and has earned internationally recognized professional certifications, including Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) from Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) in Bahrain and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) from Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) in the United States.
With his extensive expertise in Islamic banking and financial management, he is expected to contribute significantly to the continued growth and development of IFIC Bank’s Islamic banking operations.
