Dhaka, May 19, 2026 — Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC has signed a strategic agreement with Alfamart Trading Bangladesh Ltd. to supply a wide range of electronic appliances and retail cooling solutions as the Southeast Asian retail giant prepares to enter the Bangladesh market.
Under the agreement, Walton, through its Corporate Sales & Development team, will provide products including retail chillers, air conditioners, freezers, and beverage coolers to support Alfamart’s retail operations in the country.
Alfamart, one of Southeast Asia’s largest convenience retail chains, currently operates more than 27,000 outlets across Indonesia and the Philippines. The company is entering Bangladesh through a joint venture involving Kazi Farms Group and Mitsubishi Corporation.
Industry insiders say Alfamart’s decision to collaborate with Walton reflects growing confidence in locally manufactured technology products and Bangladesh’s expanding industrial capabilities.
Officials involved in the partnership described the agreement as an important step toward developing modern retail infrastructure in Bangladesh through reliable and energy-efficient solutions.
Walton said it is prepared to support Alfamart’s expansion plans with locally manufactured products designed to meet international standards while ensuring operational efficiency and scalability.
The partnership is also expected to contribute to the growth of Bangladesh’s organized retail sector, which has been witnessing increasing investment and consumer demand in recent years.
Industry analysts believe the collaboration could strengthen Walton’s corporate and commercial appliance business while creating new opportunities in the country’s evolving retail and convenience store market.
